Well if BMW recommend using 98RON whenever possible I'll keep putting Tesco Momentum in mine.
It's only another 6p a litre so an insigificant cost in the wider scheme of things. Plus I'm not doing many miles these days thanks to you know what!

Think the thread initially started about the worth of Esso's new fuel, not Tesco's. But 6p a litre difference at Tesco for their Momentum is significantly better than Esso's premium of 27p a litre which equates to 20% more which in turn is a rip-off!

Only Esso sell BioEtanol free fuel in the UK, despite being forced to display the E5 labling.

Apologies, I could have phrased what I said better.
My point was that however great the Esso fuel is, at 27p a litre dearer I won't be buying it when I can get Momentum for an extra 6p a litre!

Ah right, I understand more clearly now. By the way, my thoughts exactly

And he ends with, "This will be the Stella Artois for your car." Now there's a highly trained, articulate and persuasive engineer speaking. Or perhaps not.

I’m not going to rise to that. Mike from Bamford Rose demonstrates his abilities on a daily basis to all that use them. Very different cars/technology, but that’s irrelevant here. I thought some here may find the underlying information around fuel content interesting without carrying out some form of basic psychological analysis.

And with Aston Martins, too. Those well-known paragons of reliability.

How predictable... After nearly nine years of very happy E89 ownership, I can confirm that it was indeed a reliable experience and a fantastic car. When it came time to change, I wanted something I could work on myself, and with a bit more ‘personality’. If I wanted reliability, I would’ve bought a Porsche...
