Removed a few of the legacy gauges i modded in a few years back yesterday and stripped the loom a bit further as the rain module doesn't need to be there. Prepping the dash loom for the Racepak today.

cars absolutely filthy atm.. lol

I also got a new race batt. The braille 11 was on the way out. sad really as they are pretty expensive. I opted for a LiFePO4 battery, due to the safety aspect of not wanting to overheat and catch on fire/punctured. weighs in at 3.2kgs, so lighter than my old Braille.. absolutely amazing battery. The form factor is larger than the Braille, but the weight is much less.. easy 1.5kgs saved. thats a few more big macs i can have

Lol, thanks Bart :)

Okay, just a heads up for those looking at a racedash.. Probably best to stick to the tried and true methods like Aim, as Racepak isn't really compatible with our stock ecu. works great if you have an aftermarket ecu, but not for stock. Probably should have known that as there are zero write ups for BMW with rackpak dash'es. The older ones do work, but your having to buy sensor modules. Its an expensive exercise.

Are you going to stick with Racepak and find a work around or sell it and move on ?

In cohorts with @martyn here, hopefully make some headway. I gotta say as well, the support from either Holley or Racepak is frikkin non existent.. stay tuned.. failing this I will go the mxl2 route. I do like the Racepak look better, but if I can't get it to work I'll be forced. There are options for obd2, but I'll need canbus.

Thanks, with Martyn’s help and his hex locations for the IDs on the can bus, it took a bit of trail and error, but at least I knew in which direction to poke. :driving:

Thanks to Martyns help, I’ve got rpm, speed, oil temp, water temp , fuel level and a bunch of others sorted on the canbus for the race dash, which now I’ve got it working I’ve replaced with a logger version of the same dash.
