I'm lucky - I'm not too materialistic and other than food and drink most things I want make sense to buy second hand. Share your frustrations with regards running a business, although at the minute mine is just me. Best way. I have had help in the past.Pondrew wrote: Wed Oct 30, 2024 9:23 pm I agree totally. Problem is if I didn't buy stuff because of poor customer service. bad attitudes and poorly run businesses, I would end up with nothing.
My sub-contractors (who I make a living from) are all shite, but I have to put up with it. I have tried 'educating' them many, many times but it falls on deaf ears, cos generally people couldn't give a toss anymore. I spend most of my work life apologising to my customers and making (false) excuses. It doesn't sit well with me, but I am powerless. Other than retiring which is no better, just giving in.![]()

Two weeks on from my last rant about this car and guess what......still no further forward.
They have had all the (correct) paperwork for over a week, the car is registered and taxed but I still have no idea when, or if, they are going to let me pay them to lease it to me.
I am not going to chase anybody anymore as I just can't be bothered. I really want to tell them to stick their car where the sun don't shine, but it won't help me and I get the distinct impression no-one else will care.
I have leased many cars over the years but have never had this kind of apathy, or lack of service, before. Maybe it's just the 'new normal'?
I dunno, but I do know it is starting to really piss me off. It's a bloody good job no-one wants to buy my F31, or I could have had to drive my daughter's Mini for weeks now. And that isn't fun, either.

Not sure if all this is deliberate or not. I know someone who has also been messed around for weeks and weeks waiting on their new car and it has been so long that the payment agreement had to be changed.

We had exactly the same problem at the beginning of this year, the other half had ordered a new model Toyota, waited ages for it and she had to chase for information on delivery (even though they have an app that tells you where its at within the production/delivery process - seems to disappear once it arrives in the uk!). The day came, someone else was picking up their new car, all nice and warm in the showroom... ours was outside in a hail storm with the windows open! Then there was a problem with the paperwork, they tried to change the financial agreement/ part ex value due to the delay in delivery! I told her to walk, then arrived the dealer principal and it got sorted (poor guy got both barrels). I sold new cars (like a million years ago now) and couldn't believe how bad they were regarding communication/delivery/customer service.Nictrix wrote: Tue Nov 12, 2024 12:58 am Not sure if all this is deliberate or not. Not an estate but still a great car, good for big dogs, kids and towing. I miss my Vauxhall Zafira, bought when 3 years old and sold when I got the zed 3 years ago
Now, Sterling grey Z4 2.2 with cup holders, stubby aerial and sport seats. Roadsters ‘cause they’re great with the roof down.
Ford Anglia, Red Sprite, a few MG midgets, MGB Roadster and yellow Ford Capri, all gone many years now.

After much complaining, threatening and signing of pointless forms (to cover any legal comeback I presume) my new Audrey is due to be delivered on Monday 25th November. It had better be good!
I have leased loads of cars in the past and none have been as difficult as this one. Sign of the times, or a sign of me getting old and grumpy? Or both?

Probably a bit of both, but if it hadn't been as difficult you probably wouldn't have become (as) grumpy.Pondrew wrote: Fri Nov 15, 2024 11:33 pm I have leased loads of cars in the past and none have been as difficult as this one. Sign of the times, or a sign of me getting old and grumpy? Or both?

I hope Audrey is as good as you hope - I'd have kept the F31 for more than a year!
