Best soft top protection???

I'm picking up my nearly new M40i early next week.
I was wondering πŸ€”, what's the best soft top protection? I've ordered some Gtechnic I1 Smart Fabric Protection, as it had pretty good writeups.

Interested to hear your opinions

Cheers
Bri
I used it about a year ago as recommended by site member who I trust. Still working perfectly. I don't think these products improve the waterproofing but they certainly make the roof dry a whole lot quicker in my experience.

PS I hope the one you purchased from Amazon is the larger size as mine was some Β£10 cheaper

I had the Gyeon Fabric coat on my previous convertible BMW e46 M3 but found it much more difficult to apply and you also had to mask the rubbers well because the stuff slightly affected the rubbers.

I guess that's why I leave anything like that to a professional.

Best soft top protection???

Cleaned the roof, with a hand brush, and car wash shampoo. Rinsed any soap completely off, and allowed to dry. I then liberally sprayed the GTECHNIC fabric protection on, and rubbed in just using a nitrile gloved hand. That all dried in nicely......no streaks or stains. No colour dye issues.
I splashed the hose at it, a while later, and it looked a good repellant πŸ‘πŸΌ (image attached)

I rained last night, and there were perfect beads, and run offs (wish I'd taken a picture of that, to post. Soz)

Anyway. Definitely worth looking into, if you're looking to add a little extra protection to your soft top πŸ˜‰πŸ‘πŸΌ

Yer. I used an old towel, and paper towels, using blue low tac detailing mask tape.
The only thing I forgot, and then it was too late, was the actual back window, in the roof 🀦 After cleaning that, I was happy that I covered the front windscreen, door windows and rear arches + boot.
It's a superb unnoticeable finish, but great product.
Highly recommended it to anyone πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ

after a year old i've cleaned the roof with Auto Glym soft top cleaner and soft protect. It applied really easily and dried well. When it rains i'll post the beading and see how well it does.

πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ Does well tp protect the longevity of all soft tops, and they always look nice after a clean and protect.
Look forward to seeing the results (however, don't mind if it stays sunny for a while longer πŸ˜‰πŸ€£)

Never thought I'd EVER say this, but it was quite nice watching the rain today, and seeing it run off the roof, as much as the bodywork 🀣🀣🀦
