Let me know how you get on with INPA - once you get into the satellite "B" pillars and can read their error information, we'll honestly have something decent to work on!
Tried install INPA and this was the results, what can you tell me:

that's the same version of inpa I have.
you need to install the spdaten files now

I'll try and find a guide for installing the spdatens (from memory, it's really easy, just copying some files into the right folders) - failing that, I'll zip up all my files and stick them somewhere for you to grab (will pm you the link).

have a gander at the install files you used to install INPA.
You should find the following program there: Referenz\Install\Instprog.exe

run that and it should install all the reference files for you!

I've just pm'd you a link to the exact installer I used.

Basically, the instructions for installing that are as follows:

1: extract the rar file to a folder in the root of your C: drive (c:\inpainstall)

2: run the "instprog.exe" file in the "INSTALL" folder (c:\inpainstall\install\instprog.exe)

3: Click ok to the german message box that appears (starts with "Haben Sie Probleme bei der Installation?")

4: Select "English" in the language selection, then click "Continue"

5: when the "Viewing the reference lists" page is shown, click "Continue" again.

6: Ensure "C:" is selected on the "destination drive" page, then click "Continue".

7: Select "BMW Group Rectification Programs UK" from the "configuration" page, then click "Continue".

8: Select "Complete" next to "INPA", then click "Continue".

9: Select "OBD (on board diagnostic plug)" from the "Interface" page, then click "Continue".

10: Click "Continue" on the "starting the installation" page.

11: Click "End" when the installation has completed.

(It's likely that the installer will hang after you click End.. don't worry ;) )

That should give you a full working version of INPA.
It will be configured to use COM1 for your interface cable.
If your cable isn't configured to COM1, you can either change that in Windows Device Manager, or go into the OBD.ini file in C:\EDIABAS\BIN and change it from COM1 to the com port your cable is on.

Then you really should be golden!

that's the program - but you need to select "BMW Group Rectification programs UK" from that "Please select the configuration" page.

use your one again.. shouldnt be an issue.
dont think it will make a difference your car being lhd for what we want to do... just means the menu options and text will be english ;)

in regards to mine, you just extract it anywhere... but if you follow my instructions, c:\inpainstall would make sense.
the zip i gave you is just a zip of the install program.. and likely the same one youre using.

Its not working, my INPA is still the same, just "Info" and "Script" available.

1. Im Installing INPA (this is my INPA map)

INPA -> Programminstallation -> setup

Image

2. Extracting ur "Ediabas-6.4.3-full" to the root of c:

Image

3. Ediabas-6.4.3-full -> INSTALL -> Instprog

Then I follow ur instructions how to install it but without sucess.

Im doing this on a Windows 7 Ultimate (fake copy), should there be any problems? I've checked both the Instprog.exe and setup.exe with "Run this as Windows XP Service Pack 3".

Maybe you can send me your INPA installing files and I will try with them?

Hi bud, no - it sounds like your running everything fine.
The problem with sending my files is that I've mangled them around to do some of the stuff I've been trying to do, and won't necessarily work with your cable / car.

What I was going to suggest is perhaps we get together on Skype on day this weekend and see if we can do a bit of remote support (run logmein/teamviewer and let me have a dabble with the whole thing remotely). Might save us a whole lot of grief?
