Re: Will BMW skip the 09 model?
Some believe that there really are no "spy" photos of BMWs: BMW controls what gets out to the public. I think there is a lot of truth to that. It will be no surprise as more pics are presented with less and less cladding. What is interesting is that the above linked site calls it the 2009 Z4. If there is a new roadster for 2009, BMW will have to show it at one of the shows this Fall.

Just to confirm what everyone already knew anyway, the Z4 has been removed from the UK new car configurator this weekend, still no news on the replacement though.

Let's just say that last night, at the Homecoming Dinner, the head mucky-muck from BMW said "The new Z will be here very shortly"....best I could get through the accent. At that point, a couple of us looked at each other and said "arrrrrrrrrg" (we went as pirates

Sounds OK, they always say no ///M don't they. I read an internet rumour that the 3.0 twin turbo would be more than 306, and that it would be LA in November, but who knowsmaranander wrote:- Will be presented in January in Detroit

There will be 2 versions of the Z4:
First Generation is what we drive: 2003~2008 Z4 Roadsters, Coupe and M. The last Z4 rolled off the Spartanburg, SC plant last week. It is done. No more will be produced in the US.
Second Generation will be built in Germany. The official launch date has not been announced but will be very soon. The BMW Mfg people would not divulge anything more than that.

Funny that it will still be called Z4 - I still get people asking if mine's the "new Z3."
