OK, Plan B - 16" to 18" wheels

I've moved on from the idea of changing from runflats to anything else on my 16" wheels and I'm now looking at replacing the wheels as well.

I've seen these:

Which they'll sell me with:

225/40/18 with 255/35/18 Falken FK453 £450

Any thoughts? Is this reasonable for a 2006 2.0i SE?

Other than telling my insurance and getting hold of some tyre repair gunk, is there anything else that needs doing? If I'm using the online calculators correctly then I think my speedo will be OK, but if I'm wrong please let me know.

They would look mighty fine & will be no issue regarding your rolling radius .
What ££ is the ask on the Falken's ?

They're £450, for a total of £900 plus delivery. I'm thinking it's easier to have the wheels arrive with tyres on, rather than buy separately and then try to get someone to fit them.

I'm looking at the Falkens only because I've heard of them before, any thoughts? If I was buying separately I'd probably put Goodyear Eagle F1s on.

Tyre choice often brings up much debate
from a personal point i would prefer Vredestein if the cost was similar ?
I had Falken's a few years back when they were good tyres at a relatively low price but for me now they have pushed up their prices into the next bracket where competition is fierce .
They aren't bad tyres but there are others i would fit before them

I have Falkens not had a problem with them. I got them because I couldn't afford the vredesteins but mine where 19" 18" might be more competative

Would anyone who does be able to let me know if those wheels would definitely fit?

tey will 100% fit , personaly i would stick some spacers too as the offset is way to high for 8.5j

So... the wheel would sit too far in from the arch? If I'm understanding things right?

Would I be better off looking for a set with 9" rears?

The wheels you have chosen will fit fine but some prefer a more aggresive look / or less offset so face of wheel sticks further out

Wheels are on! Very happy with them. Have some BMW centre caps on the way to make them perfect.

What a difference real tyres make too! I have grip and feedback!
