Brake bedding in procedure

Post by sp3ctre » Sat Jul 07, 2007 4:46 pm

I want to add a how-to for the bedding in procedure of new brake pads... I remember there was one particular method everyone used to rave about way back when... can anyone point me in the right direction please?

:D

Tons of useful info about what you are doing with brake bedding and why. Like ducks said - no shortcuts if you want useful results. Most of us do want useful results when it comes to brakes......

Oh....my...god....

Just got back from bedding in my brakes and do I feel SICK or what??? Started to get a little light headed after the 10th stop (2nd set).... decided to open the window to get some fresh air... big mistake!!! The smell was foul!!!!

You're not kidding with the "not after breakfast" statement :sick2:

Nothing like the smell of fresh brake dust in the morning :D

If you spend a lot of time at track events you will get quite used to the scent.

That smell is only second place to Zaino Z10.

All day today in BMW CCA KC Chapter Autocross school. Drove till we dropped. SCCA instructors made the process fun and inspirational. Must have put in 20+ runs altogether. Now I have no excuses.

Tomorrow SCCA meet at Arrowhead Stadium parking lot L (home of the Chiefs). Work 1, Run Heat 2. Hawk HPplus pads working like a charm. I am so tired from today but so charged for tomorrow.

Cheers,
Greg

Nice - you will sleep well tonight once the adrenaline wears off and the day's efforts catch up with you.

20+ runs is a LOT of AutoX seat time for one day.
