LED foglights
Normaly, when I see someone driving about with side lights & foglights on in the day, it's an erderly driver, who isn't quite sure what symbols corospond to the function of the buttons on the dash, or it's a young person, in a Corsa, with a baseball hat on. The wrong way round. Either way, I think foglights when not needed looks silly.
However, recently I have noticed that some new cars have their DRLs where the fog lights go. There is a Volvo, and a C-class I believe.
This inspired me to have a look on e-bay to see if there were any direct LED replacement for the H11 filiment that the Z4 uses. There was. This is it held up next to the conventional bulb on the right. Please excuse dirty hands, just came back from work..
Led fog on left, halogen on right
Can't really tell any difference when it's off
And both on
I do plan on getting the white angel eyes/HIDs in the near future, which I think will go better than the standered headlight in at the moment. I'm sure people will have a mixed reaction about them.

LED foglights
Good effort, although I would also change your side 105 bulbs to LED to match up the colour output

Re: LED foglights
Already done about a day after these pics were taken, however, due to there being no resistance in the 501leds, the front indicators come on to substitute for what it thinks is a blow bulb. Need to get some resistors to sort the problem out.ranski wrote:Good effort, although I would also change your side 105 bulbs to LED to match up the colour output

Re: LED foglights
I already have a speach prepaired about how they are now DRLs as opposed to fogs, and if that fails, i have some friends who are traffic cops, I'll just drop their names and hope for the bestRedzedfour wrote:Would'nt plod pull you over for having your fog lights on

Quite keen to do this too, could you let us know where you get the bulbs and resistors from and.....how it all fits together!ollie_owen_84 wrote:Already done about a day after these pics were taken, however, due to there being no resistance in the 501leds, the front indicators come on to substitute for what it thinks is a blow bulb. Re: LED foglights
I am not sure these ones would work well as the light won't really hit the reflectors at the back. I am sure I have seen a version with multiple LEDs on the sides like giant versions of the side light LEDs.Redzedfour wrote:Wonder how they would look on the facelifted fogs
