I'm sure one without buttons will fit just fine...question is...will i be able to get the buttons to work if i set up the required wires, if i have a wheel without buttons?

I think for the pre-facelift cars built before november 2004 (or something like that) all the wiring and harnesses are built in so just needs connecting up and you get all the multifunction buttons working. On a 2008 I don't know..... But I know that it can be retrofitted and has been done on here.
If you search for retrofitting MFSW - there'll be a lot of results- and look through the threads you'll see how it's been done before
