Have noticed a couple of times recently that when it is windy or on the motorway and the wipers are on intermittent, sometimes they blow back up the screen slightly and stop higher than usual.
A couple of times this has been as bad that they slowly creep all the way up the screen, but if I knock them so that they wipe again they work fine.
Is this a built in saftey overload slip or is there something wrong in the mechanism?

laser4596, I would suspect the slippage is an issue and offer that you have it checked. My thought is it'll probably worsen. I haven't heard of this being a safety 'feature'. One test might be to check the resistance with the car parked and verify if the wipers don't also wiggle on their posts. Please let us know what you find. ...dean

I agree, sounds like something wrong with the mechanism to me.
