Guys,

I have decided to get ride of my run flats like most have done. I have been on tyre reviews.co.uk and no wonder I can't drive my Potenza run flats in the rain!!

The best tyre out there seems to be - Continental ContiSportContact 5 P
Does anyone know where I would get this from?
Size - 225/40 W Fronts & 225/35 R18 W backs

If I can't get that, do you guys recommend the Continetal sport contact 3 or Michelin PS2?

Cheers

Got Michelin PS2s on mine - good ride, grip etc. Will certainly out perform my driving capability.

I need a tyre that grips in the wet. I have already spun my car once of the road with my Bridgestone Potenza run flats. Everytime I slowly accelerating coming off a roundabout the back end goes in the rain. I now don't accelerate in the wet....I may aswell just drive my 4x4 in the rain!

These new Continentals 3 sound the bomb! But if I cant get them I need to get the best equivlent??

Tried both those web pages and they don't have that tyre in my wheel size which is strange....can't source it in my wheel size anywhere!

Looks like it is between the Michellin PS 2 and teh Continental 2 =0/ - What is best guys?

Try the Conti website - put your postcode in the seach section and it will give you a local dealer.....

Have a look at the forum favorites,Falken 452's i had them fitted to my roadster and they improved the ride and handling no end and all for £400 a set
On the coupe which i bought just before christmas,it has Pirelli RFT on the rear and Goodyear RFT on the front and to be honest the ride is far better than the Bridgestones.

Hi g0g5 - maybe a typo or that seems an odd set up :? - you have a lower profile on rears for same tyre width so you would have a smaller rolling circumference on rears. Maybe that should be 255/35/18 which would give you a compatible circumference with 225/40s on front :D

Ignore me if I'm talking b*ll*cks

All pina,

I'm pretty sure it is right, will check in day light again.

Front 225/40 R18 88W
Rear 225/35 R18 90W

What does everyone else have on their 18's? Z4 3.0 SI Coupe

g0g5, I ran two sets of Conti Sport Contact 3 on my SLK, they were a great tyre, particularly in the wet. They did wear out fast though, less than 10k on my last set of rears.

Your rears will definitely be 255/35 unless someone has fitted the wrong tyres on it previously. Either way, you need 255s on the rear anyway.
