Replacement window regulator

Post by sk93 » Tue Oct 05, 2010 5:55 pm

I'm having a bit of difficulty working out the part number I need to order to replace my broken window regulator.

The situation is as follows, the cable within the window riser in the passenger side door has snapped, which means the window no longer goes up and down when pressing the buttons.
The electric motor is still working fine, and spins away happily when you press the button, but as it has no cable to move anymore, the window doesn't slide.

Now, I need to replace this riser part, but I cannot find the part number... the closest I can get is to a discontinued part number!

The bit I need is item 1:

But as you can see from bmwFans and realoem below, the part number is discontinued.

http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/E85/R ... mechanism/

Oddly, the drivers side isn't discontinued!

Anyways - I NEED this part now, but I haven't got a clue where to get the part number from.
My local dealers are not being really helpful, and want me to bring the car in for them to take the door apart and have a look...... :headbang:

So, my learned freinds, it's over to you :D
:zzzz:

sk...... I also got mine from Joe about 6 months ago although mine was drivers side. The part number for mine was 51337198910 so going from realOEM the passenger side should be 51337198909 (says from 10/2006). Joe was really helpful and confirmed the part number before I ordered. Price back then was £125.01... he did it for £106.27 delivered pretty much next day (as soon as he had the part)

ask :poke:

Literally as simple as that. i think when quoted the price i said that i had heard from the Z4-Forum he was doing some good deals the price was then adjusted.

They have had loads of business off here now so i doubt theyll bat an eyelid

EDIT: I think i actually spoke to his side kick but knew all about it. cant remember his name though

Was that fitted?!If not the price of the genuine part has gone up a bit as I just bought a passenger side one from Joe @ Sopers for about £110 instead of £105 back in September.
