Wanted Z4 Coupe manual under 80k miles

Post by CraigP » Sun Jun 22, 2025 9:33 pm

Having sold my z4 coupe 3 or so years ago, just sold my 2023 Supra Special edition and am now looking for another Z4 Si coupe , preferably in Monaco Blue, Silver grey or Montego Blue, ideally lowish mileage and in good condition, not needing much work and decent service history, pay upto 12k for a really good example :-)

It's just a thought but given the mental block people in the UK have with 100K mile cars you might find a better deal including ones that have just passed that milestone rather than buying one below it that will go past it in your ownership.

It isn't like they blow up at 100K based on this thread:- viewtopic.php?t=152362

I'm on my 4th N52 engine now in a 128K mile 330i and it still performs brilliantly. :D

It might be worth specifying if you have a preference for manual or Auto, SE or Sport as well.

As you will know they are great cars, I'd still have one if I hadn't been seduced by an MC, so good luck finding the right one.

Manual, Sport model , would really like one under 80k. I get your point but paintwork, seats etc are usually better condition than one over 100k. Having said that its not a no go just a preference :)

FWIW seat condition can vary widely according to how the car has been used, and maybe how big the owner is!

Pearl Grey M-Sport seat bolster on my 62K miler when I sold it.

They can always be tidied up with Gliptone or Furniture Clinic products, although admittedly paint is not so simple.

I've seen the easy bolster repairs, just painted and sprayed, its the seat pad that usually goes. The paintwork though not so easy repaired at low cost, tho i have seen this one but would prefer to see one nearer.

The good ones come up rarely, as they tend to be kept hold of.
But they do, hang in there. Some absolute beauties have appeared on here over the last 12 months.

Luc Zachery usually has a few low milers in his fleet for sale, I cant comment on condition or if they've had any of the usual issues sorted, but at least it ticks the low mile box.

I was also after a low mile example due to the reasons you mention above. General wear and tear on bodywork and moving parts.
But then on the flipside, a higher milage car with those already sorted, probably makes more sense. (I'm with you though, a lower milage car is a nice thing to aim for)
Oh, and Montego Blue, a good choice, Sir. :P

That looks like Silver Grey, the same as mine.

Having had two 3.0Sis before I got my MC the M does feel way more special, but running costs are on another level altogether. :(

Just depends if it's a price you are willing to pay!

Im happy with either to be honest, cost is a factor but could get either the Z4C or Z4MC, yes they are a fair bit different, but it is really the shape of the coupe that catches my eye, so will keep an open mind :D

It was the shape that drew me to them as well.

I didn't have the budget for an M when I bought my first one in 2014 and if I was buying one for daily use I'd rather have a 3.0Si. But my Z4s have only ever been fun cars as I have a daily driver too.

Anyway I went to look at an M advertised by a local trader on behalf of another forum member who was 150 miles away and had an unaccompanied test drive. And I just knew I had to have one whatever the cost. :D

Having received a small inheritance a few months later in 2019 I saw the advert for the one I have now and managed to agree a price I was happy with.

It had done 76K miles and was due an Inspection 2 Service which came to £1K with a couple of other minor jobs thrown in. Then as it was always going to be a keeper I decided to get the rod bearing shells replaced at 78K miles so that was another £1K bill, but 6 were showing copper so I thought it was money well spent!

Road Tax is also £760 a year now, so if you don't fancy those sorts of costs don't drive one in case you love it!

Only live once :) , and those extra costs are nt so much, i paid 2.5k for ppf for my supra then sold it the year after, dont mind spending on cars that are worth it. Will consider the silver grey now as well is that on the the z4c and the z4m or just the latter?
