Hi all, decided to sell my Z4 2.5 2003 in silver, my son has an M135i and now I want one!
It's in amazing condition for a 22 year old car having only covered 30000 miles from new with full service history.
I have owned it since 2018 I bought it after I sold my Triumph Stag. It has been completely reliable and has been completely cherished by me. I have only driven less than 1000 miles each year. The oil has been changed every year in spite of the low mileage.
It is standard apart from the Alpina alloys which are worth a fair bit on their own! They are shod with Michelin PS4's
It has a stubby aerial and upgraded lights etc. I have all the original parts if required I also have a hard top in the correct colour.
This car hasn't seen rain in the time I have had it! The roof motor is in it's original position as I don't get the car wet!
There is absolutely no rust it has always passed mot's without any advisories.
There will be lots I have missed so please ask if you have any questions?
I am looking for £6500 but am open to offers.
There can't be many around with only 30k miles on them.
I will take more photos of the interior etc when i tax it from the 1st of March. It's tucked away in the garage on a trickle charger at the moment.

I'll be candidly honest with you:
That mileage doesn't increase the value as much as you think. In fact, I'd be worried what might have dried up, seized up, etc over that amount of time with no miles put on it.
In the current market I think you should aim for about half of your asking price. Maybe a little more to account for lack of interior wear etc.
Sell the hard top separately if you are after top dollar.

I wish you well with the sale but you are less likely to find a buyer on a specialist forum that understand so much about these cars.
GLWTS.

For what it's worth, I disagree... i think 1000 miles a year is plenty to keep things ticking over, it's a nice low miles car. You advertise it for whatever you want.

My weekend car only does 2000 miles or so a year now I own it. Problem is, various previous owners have done a lot more. But this looks like it's been a weekend car all it's life, with low but not stupidly low miles as a result.

Well as they say, opinions are like assholes. Everybody had one 😁

That price does seem a bit toppy to me, but at least is seems to have been used every year even if not much and the body condition should reflect that.

As has been said you'll probably get more overall selling the hardtop separately and the same might be true for the Alpina wheels, although you'd need to buy some others obviously!

Anyway GLWTS.

That looks like a very nice well cared for car. But you haven’t picked the best time to sell. Prices have fallen significantly in recent times. Some additional photographs including some of the interior might help. But I think you will have to be patient to find a buyer willing to pay your asking price. GLWTS.

I do think you will struggle to attract anything other than comments on this forum, where there are more opinions than buyers. I don’t think the ask is unreasonable though, and people will generally pay a good premium for a low mileage, well cared for car. An Autotrader ad will be a good investment for you now that spring is almost here. Good luck.

I have sold ALL cars I have advertised on the forum (including one non Z4) , without issue and quite quickly. IME the buyers on here are much more genuine and easier to deal with than any national advertising medium. People browse this forum looking for cars to buy because it's popular, active and a good place to seek enthusiast-owned cars.

The mileage, wheels, obvious care and hardtop make the car not far off market value IMHO.

Mileage is KING when it comes to value in the UK car market nowadays, no matter how much anyone wants it not to be.

The "condition and service history is far more important than mileage on these 'bullet proof engines'" just isn't correct when it comes to resale values.

Thanks for the replies, I'm not in any rush to sell, when I get her out of the garage on Saturday I may well change my mind.
Cheers Steve

Good luck with sale. When I got my z4 I paid over the top based on low mileage and condition. I think your car is perhaps a little over priced but mileage counts a great deal and there cannot be many around like yours. A future classic by all accounts!

Adding some pics of the interior should help.

Would you be willing to lower the price and sell without hard top and wheels?

Hi, I would lower the price but would like to sell it all as a whole. I have all the original lights, aerial etc
Many thanks
Steve

Luke Zachery might be interested in this for his stock, if you don't get much interest privately.

Reading your PMs would probably be a good starting point.
