And it wasn’t Pondrew’s fault this time
Now, Sterling grey Z4 2.2 with cup holders, stubby aerial and sport seats. Roadsters ‘cause they’re great with the roof down.
Ford Anglia, Red Sprite, a few MG midgets, MGB Roadster and yellow Ford Capri, all gone many years now.

Just to get the thread back on track, Vall and I met up with Graeme this morning. Lovely black E86 in extremely clean condition. Reset about 20 years worth of old codes and cleared the engine light.
Didn't occur to me at the time, but Graeme said about 1000 miles back the engine light came on and a garage charged him £90 to clear it, saying it 'may' come back. But for that money they didn't even go into any other systems and clear any codes from them! Robbers!
Anyway, the issue appears to be the inlet vanos solenoid playing up. For now we have reset the code and will see what happens. I'm doing a full oil service on the car in the next month or so. At that point I will take out both solenoids, clean them and put them back in the opposite positions. So if the light comes back we will then see if the fault has moved to the exhaust side.

Always happy to help if I can.

If the forum helped you, why not help the forum back. Thats the Z4 way!

£90? Honestly, the distrust of the industry is built on this rubbish, and they don’t understand that being honest, fair and not ripping people off is what builds sustainable business.

It’s why Attleborough is worth the drive - even if the next visit will be driving with my Zed on a trailer
