SOLD - Mitsubishi Lancer Estate 2.0 Sport, 2006, 79700 miles £1200

Mitsubishi LANCER Estate 2.0L Sport, 2006, Manual, 1997 (cc)

Not expecting it to sell on this site, but might as well list it just in case... all offers considered, and sensible comments on pricing also welcome - I think my asking might be a bit toppy.

I bought this car in 2014 when it was 8 years old with about 50k on the clock... it has done about 3,000 miles a year in my 10 years of ownership, mainly local miles around Guildford and surrounding areas, but also the odd trip to Wales, Norfolk etc. Selling due to arrival of a new car.

Good points - it looks reasonably smart so long as you don't look too close. Alloys are not perfect, but decent. Two new Goodyear tyres in the last 1000 miles, it's also had at least a couple of new calipers and discs in the same time. The other tyres are decent too. Thule roof bars included. I have always done what needs doing. 3 months' MOT. Upgraded stereo to a DAB one with AUX and USB inputs to plug in a phone. Central locking, electric windows.

Bad points - tiny ding on the roof, slight crumple to drivers side corner of rear bumper and minor damage to light above. The car has passed 6 or 8 MOTs since this happened - all fine. Headlights could do with a polish.

If you need a cheap estate car for the family this could work.

Maybe I am selling it short, but I could also see it being a very decent work-horse for an odd-job man, or a painter and decorator.

I am asking £1,200... on the one hand I am in no rush to sell... on the other hand it would be great it it goes soon and I am happy to sell it for whatever it is worth - all realistic offers considered.

Asking price dropped to £1,600... I probably won't keep price dropping and bumping, much more likely to sell elsewhere... but please reach out, all offers considered pretty much.

Asking price dropped to £1,600 elsewhere, so £1,400 here... it has to go

£1,200 ALL OFFERS CONSIDERED.

So... I think that £1,600 is probably a best case for this car. This car is not best case, but it is a two owner car with a lot going for it.

I get that no-one on here is gonna want it for themselves, but anyone know anyone?

Someone looked at it and didn't like the clutch. It drives fine, and clutch is low not high, but there may be an issue coming up. Handbrake is also pretty high when on.

Someone can have this car for less than I have spent on brakes, tyres, timing chain and a few other minor bits over the last 2 years (5k or 6k miles). Much of the spend has been in the last 2-3k miles.

I'll tell you something that I don't deserve a well done for... I do not recall either offering or giving you a bottle of wine as a thank you when you came over and helped me out a few months back... it's been playing on my mind!

White or red? Let me know next time you're in Guildford, or otherwise I'll be asking for an address next time I head west along the hog's back.

Thanks Fred. Either will do, so long as it’s not cheap :D

No worries there, I never spend less than £4 on a bottle.
