Re: sDrive40i
But not a V8 though
I got the info off the German board and it seems it'll be the same as the 740i which is a 326PS / 330lb ft version of the 3.0TT engine.
So I bet the Z4 sDrive40i M Sport will be the best that can be hoped for, until the facelift anyway. Would you need a faster car

Last weekend in the Lakes I desperately needed my LSD over the pass so I will wait for the M to arrive again ...

Re: sDrive40i
Hmmm, interesting one. I can't see them offering a 35i and 40i at the same time if the 40i is only an N54 with the boost turned up by 20PS (or 6.5% as I like to call it), which is what the 740i has.
Maybe it's an up-boosted derivative of the new N55, single-blown, ironically named TwinPower motor from the 5-Series GT. But then where are they going to up it to? North of 350PS and it'll be dealing on the M's patch (assuming it's going to get the S65 V8).

Re: sDrive40i
Doesn't the 35i have some kind of "electronic LSD" using independent braking? Obviously not nearly as good but not a total loss?pvr wrote:Last weekend in the Lakes I desperately needed my LSD over the pass so I will wait for the M to arrive again ...
But wow, this is a very interesting development!
So there will be a 40i?!
That could be very quick indeed and up with the M in a straight line ... if not faster
/edit: have they taken the page down?!?

I read that the 135i will be getting the same engine next year too. Why wouldn't they do it, the engine already exists.Merefield wrote:So there will be a 40i?!
