Yet another trip around Mull, Kintyre and Bute

Post by B21 » Thu Sep 05, 2024 3:50 pm

A few of us had a short notice pop up 3 day trip from Glasgow area to Mull, Kintyre and Bute ..

Mull was very disappointing this time..some roads were in very poor condition..people complain about the NC500..that’s like a two land motorway in comparison..a lot of commercial traffic on the roads..some very aggressively driven..

However most of the rest of the trip the roads and density of traffic was ok.

Stayed at Tobermory one night then Tarbert in `Kintyre the next ..

A lot of ferry hopping (7)..weather was calm a bit of mizzle and some sunshine…

Always a good bash with the Z4 FB Scotland guys ..

Sadly the Yellow Peril is poorly so road shotgun in an E89 23i , E89 20i remapped and a much loved and tweaked Z4M.. :tumbleweed: :driving:

I practiced my Institute of Advanced Motorists National Observer role that I’m now tracing for ..but didn’t pass on my observations!

We choose to go to on with this endeavour at this time and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard…

Always a good craic with the Scottish lads..plus a Geordie.. :tumbleweed:

The western part of Scotland is very beautiful in its own way…such a great country for roads and vistas..

You can tramp on and very little bothers you..

I rode in it for a day..the owner has alleged to have spent over £18k ‘tidying’ it up…

I was very impressed ..felt tight..went very well with a big pukka c/f airbox, excellent dampers and brakes…extended leather interior..was pleasantly surprised..didn’t feel ‘raw’ at all…personally I’d get rid of that airbox..it would annoy the hell out of me..
