A full day of ownership now. Only done a motorway back home after pick up and some local fun road.
As many people has said, the driving experience is just another level to z4. At idle, you can feel the engine running at the back with a bit torsional force transfer to the body. It's like seeing a labrador wagging its tail and the body swing left and right slightly alone with its tail, telling you we can have some fun now. When you drive off initially, everything feels quite heavy, raw, and not as easy going as z4. But as soon as you get used to it then drive it on the road it supposed to, everything feels like it's being setup just as how it should, no more and no less. When you start push the car, your brain is not only stimulated by the acceleration, which my EV might do better if I'm honest, but also the sound, the vibration, the linear output from the engine, the direction change that matches exactly as what's in your mind, and the fact that all of these are simultaneously and harmoniously presented to you as the driver. At the same time, it keep telling you just keep going and it has more to give if I want. If the road allows, you can just repeat the experience again and again by pulling the right paddle behind the steering wheel, and the car just deliver the experience unreservedly. If you reach the end of the straight and start pressing the brake paddle, it's firm, it's linear, it gives you so much confidence that you can modulate the input to the exact deceleration you want. At the time you pull the left paddle behind the wheel, all it will tell you is to fk the env and eco, it will just burn whatever amount of fuel needed to match the rev I deserve in the shortest possible duration, without unsettle the car, but at the same time gives me another different, but still harmonious stimulation. Then, at the end of the enjoyment, you just turn down everything and take it home comfortably. The suspension is softer than Z4 in comfort mode. The road noise might be slightly higher than Z4 but not too much. And I can still manage more than 40mpg on the motorway. This is the pure driving machine providing you the sheer driving pleasure.
In an extremely short summary: WORTH IT

Thank you for a lot detailed information from you as well. I think without them, I'm still hesitated to change, and without owning it and using it more, the hesitation will just keep going on. The test drive itself just won't let you know enough of how the car is. One has to own it, use it so that can know how good it is.

Just noticed that my Z4 is up for sell at BMW Sheffield where it always went to for services. This is the link to the car. If anyone here bought it, feel free to get in touch.

Out of curiosity just asked for a cost to change. Had to tell them 3 times now they have the wrong email address to send me the quote but keep getting txts saying they have tried and quotes keep bouncing back.q96169we wrote: ↑Thu Sep 05, 2024 10:24 am Just noticed that my Z4 is up for sell at BMW Sheffield where it always went to for services.
