Finally ditched the last two RFT tires. Much better ride and handling!

Pulled it out of storage for the first time in a year, disconnected the battery conditioner and it started on the button. Done around 200 miles in it since Thursday and now has its front bumper off and stripped ready to go for a respray in a few weeks time. Got it up on the quick jacks at the mo so underneath inspection this afternoon then back into storage tonight before I go back overseas tomorrow.

Took my offside rear wheel off for inspection as I'm occasionally getting a quite womp, womp sound from it since having the rear tyres replaced. Tyre seems okay, might be the handbrake pads catching sometimes as the drum seemed a little tight. Used the opportunity to clean off the old sticky stuff from the old weights and clean the inside of the wheel. Took it for a drive but sound not there
Now, Sterling grey Z4 2.2 with cup holders, stubby aerial and sport seats. Roadsters ‘cause they’re great with the roof down.
Ford Anglia, Red Sprite, a few MG midgets, MGB Roadster and yellow Ford Capri, all gone many years now.

Yesterday I went to an old National Tyres (now Halfords) place to get the wheel alignment done. They quoted £550 for complete new track rods / ends.

Today I removed four rusty number plate screws (20 mins) and fitted new (2 mins), and got the track rod ends moving with a wire brush, plus gas and spanners.

Now I'm not certain the track rod ends will be ok, and I'm sure brand new would be a reasonable idea, but I can't say I'm overly impressed with Halfords.

After a front suspension change and two roof motors this week, today was going to be a rest day!
Ha-bloody-ha!
Vall's E85 had other ideas! Last night it lit up the airbag light: centre SIM85 module fault. Happened to have a spare (as you do), so two hours later, new module fitted and coded in, centre console rebuilt and no more annoying red light.

So much for rest!
Another roof motor move arriving tomorrow.

Always happy to help if I can.

Coupe had a new valve cover gasket and sparks… a very pleasing job although a little more involved than the m54.

Another job off the list
