S54 Timing Tool Kit

Post by lucasxdiniz » Wed Mar 27, 2024 3:37 pm

Hi all,

I've recently bought all the VANOS seals, bolts, guides etc, to do some preventative maintenance and I also ordered an eBay S54 Timing tool set. I have now opened said eBay special kit and I am not happy to use that - so I am looking to buy or rent the timing bridge/pins from anyone.

Yes, I've called BMW and their price is more than adequate, but I do not wish to wait up to 10 days (stock in Germany).

Please, please let me know if you have one.

Kind regards,

Lucas

No, it uses spring pins to hold the parts together. IMO having an adjustable timing tool kind of defeats the purpose of it!

What I meant was it sounds like the quality isn’t good so I thought if there were grub screws holding it together they might adjust enough to level the feet.

If you find a tool I’d be interested in borrowing it for a fee or buying it to do mine.

A very kind man from M3Cutters lent me his. Had I bought it, I would have lent it to you. But BMW quoted me £165 for the full kit needed for the job. But if you buy the bridge alone for about £95, I can lend you the locking pin as the one with the kit I borrowed, would only work for an E46 M3 (too long), so I got one and cut it down.
