Siramik Lustrous Plus Graphene Sealant

Used this on a few cars now, and it’s good… expensive at about £48, but a little goes a very long way so should last ages. I’ve been using this on my company car and it’s lasted well for about six months so far.

Doesn’t seem to take anything away, in gloss terms, from freshly machined paintwork.

Nicely done. Been meaning to try Graphene out for a while, but its a football field full of LSPs at the moment there are so many different options and I am stuck on the convenience of Gyeon Wet Coat :rofl:

Cheers, tried Turlewax graphene flex wax before… didn’t like it at all, this is a much better user experience :thumbsup:

There are so many decent, easy to use, LSP’s out there now… but nothing is shinier than freshly corrected paint :)

I do plan to correct my bonnet and boot lid when the weather improves a touch i.e. that there is no threat of rain at any second :lol:

Will prep it, clay it, then I have some Menzerna 3-1 polish which should be strong enough to correct it. I got some Scholl S20 as backup should I need it.

Bit of a thread resurrection here but I'm looking at giving mine a proper clean before getting it out for the summer.

I won't bore you with all the details but effectively I was going to do a final stage machine Polish with srp and then use this siramik stuff.

My question is - what's the process for application/buffing? Is it worth me using a wax beforehand or jusy straight onto the paint after the last stage of Polish?

Personally I would say go from a polish to a single sealant. Make sure you have a panel wipe handy to use after the polish to remove any residue etc.

at the risk of appearing stupid.... Is going from SRP to this Siramik stuff not going polish to single sealant? Or am I misunderstanding? :oops:

Thanks for the advice re panel wipe, willdo! can I assume something like AG Rapid Detailer would be suitable as a panel wipe?

SRP you mean super resin polish yes? If so then yes go from that to the ceramic sealant. No point putting extra wax on in between, as you will want to wipe down with panel wipe prior to the ceramic application.

Yep AG Super Resin Polish :) Although the alternative would be Meguiars Ultimate Compound? I'm guessing it doesn't matter which of the two I use, I'd still need to use a panel prep before applying the Siramik stuff?

Yeah either will do a reasonable job, SRP is full of fillers so it does pretend to correct paint rather than actually do it. I presume you are shopping at Halfords for the polish? If you can get online can really recommend Scholl S20 Black which will outperform both AG and Megs.

And yes, use a panel prep to give the finish as much chance of bonding as possible.

:lol: Nah I'm not shopping at Halfrauds, I've got a load of (admittedly likely well outdated) stuff from AG from a few years back, but am certainly open to using more up to date stuff to achieve a better result.

I'll look at Scholl S20 Black - thanks for the recommendation.

My biggest thing really is a lack of time - life is just busy, and as much as I'd love to I simply don't have as much time as I did back in the day, so looking for something that ultimately reduces how often I need to clean/correct the paint!

As has been said SRP full of fillers, so great for hiding swirls.

Apply to clean paint, rather than on top of something else, and allow a few hours to cure before letting it get wet. I wouldn’t personally polish with SRP first as it is a bit like a sealant in some respects.

If you’re going to machine polish the car first, use something like Sonax 4-6, this will remove swirls rather than fill them like the SRP. I’d also use something like panel wipe or isopropyl alcohol to clean polish remnants off. A QD will likely leave its own coating on the paint, so the Siramik would sit on top.

To be honest SRP is pretty decent as a final stage on its own, just unlikely to last as long as a more modern last stage product.

The Siramik is really easy to apply, more or less wipe on, spread evenly (cross-hatch) and wipe off. It’s not a full ceramic, so not likely to have issues with high spots.
