My go at side bolster repair

Another small job done today … doing my best to make the drivers side bolster a bit more respectable . I’m pretty chuffed with how it turned out . It’s not perfect by any means but a lot better than it was !!

I usually find that when a camera is being fussy with focusing that I take a picture further away and then crop it down to the size I want.

When adding images on the forums and you don't want your images to say 'attachments' above them you need to click 'place in line' it took my a while to work that out
Clicking 'place in line' adds the images where your cursor is blinking.

It was scratch doctor , I did look at furniture clinic but their kit was around £150 !! … I paid £35. Used a leather filler and all in one dye from them . I have subsequently coloured the whole seat and the passages , as the red was ever so slightly lighter . Makes it look worse in the pic but easily had enough to do both seat . I’ll also put a couple fresh coats over the door panels , so it’s ok matched .

I am sure scratch doctor will be a similar product to furniture clinic so this advice should apply. You can use the seat after 24hrs but don't get it wet. Also don't apply a leather protector cream for at least 2 weeks.

Do use a leather protector cream though. Whilst it won't actually soak into leather it does provide a seal. A bit like putting wax on a car paintwork after you have polished it. Then when you need to clean just use a damp cloth. Apply more leather cream every 3 months, less so if you only use the car occasionally.

Would the autoglym leather conditioner work? Or I do have some Gtechniq leather guard ?

Both of those should work, always test on a small area first.

If you do a vin check and find out what colour your seats exactly are .. then you can translate into English. Mine translated dream red . The scratch director is ever so slightly brighter… so I actually done both seats and I’ll do the door cards when I get a chance . Fantastic for the money though . I’ll also be getting my interior trim guy to swop the seat covers over from left to right . So the ‘bad’ bolster will be the inside of the passengers seat .
