BMW 320D crashed & abandoned outside our property. HPI information required
Would anyone in the trade be able to help identify the registration of a 2005 BMW 320D SE Touring that was crashed & abandoned near our property please.
Shortly after the crash whoever was driving removed the registration plates & took the owner/service handbooks etc as the folder is left open on the seat.
I have the VIN to hand. Police have been out at some stage as blue tape at the scene. Weeks have past now though and would like to follow up etc to try and get it removed as soon as possible.
Any HPI help would be great. Can provide VIN via PM. Thank you

Of course it could mysteriously catch fire? That should get it moved

Bugger, if only it was an F30 instead of an e90/e46, as I could have come over and stripped it for spare parts

Agreed. Can't see how having more information on it is going to help get it moved.
I would just ring the local Police or Council and TELL them to get it shifted.
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

From the plate you can confirm it's Sorn'd - so a call to the DVLA to get it tow'd might be your best bet.

I wanted to confirm that the car was SORN to try & escalate things with the DVLA. Thanks for your help Gwest44.
The car has personal belongings in it, isn't particularly damaged (Front NS Wing) & was left unlocked. Had an insurance claim gone through surely it would have been recovered by now or more care taken in how it was left by the owner and most importantly plates not removed. High mileage car also so no doubt it has just been deserted.

Good luck getting it removed OP.
Although if it has the rare Bi-Xenon headlights they would be worth a few quid if they (and the ballasts) were to go missing.

In my experience vans can sit for ages annoying the owner of the house they're outside of, yet one simple fire engine call-out and they just disappear within a few days. No idea how it works but it does.
