So recently I changed from grey interior trim parts to black trim parts including the Passenger airbag indicator in the center console. After starting the car I got an air bag light and code "93E6 Signal lamp, airbag deactivation: open circuit". I figured it came on because I had the indicator disconnected, so I cleared the codes and went on my way. Next time I got in the car I had the same code. So, I figured I must have done something wrong but what I found was that BMW in their infinite wisdom moved the power wire from pin 2 to pin 3 for +2006 cars!!! I moved the power wire in the connector from pin 2 to 3 and the code is gone and the light works as it should.
The only thing I can think of is some German engineer needed to prove is worth and decided to move the power wire one pin to get his bonus!!!
