Wiper parking

Post by domsz4 » Tue Feb 27, 2024 7:15 pm

The wipers are doing my head in … the old ones creaked and graunched so loud you couldn’t drown it out so in went a replacement which was lovely and smooth and didn’t sound like my whining toddler.

Now the buggers are all over the place, usual symptoms of over swiping, on intermittent stopping in random places etc albeit smoothly and nicely

I’ve done the trick of removing the grease off the coffee contacts on the back of the motor housing but didn’t take it entirely off the worm gear and that’s not helped

I did read about other bimmers having an issue with the relay being goosed and wondered if anyone had seen this

Any other ways to solve the parking issue it’s deffo worse on intermittent

Grease and muck, on the electrical pic up. Take it out and wipe it clean.

First thing I did.
I also did but not properly and had to do it again. Mine still pop up a fraction at rest but I live with it.
Now, Sterling grey Z4 2.2 with cup holders, stubby aerial and sport seats. Roadsters ‘cause they’re great with the roof down.
Ford Anglia, Red Sprite, a few MG midgets, MGB Roadster and yellow Ford Capri, all gone many years now.
