Rob I’ll get those looms back in the post tomorrow
I did use 2 pins from the drivers side…

I think the next thing Ian may be wanting is a heated steering wheel…Jollyjoiner wrote: ↑Mon Feb 26, 2024 8:34 pm Well done Stewart, good to read that the headache is now over lol.
I need to work out the relationship between the old loom and connector (the new bases don’t have a loom or connector for bolsters) and linking that to the switch AND the control box

The passenger seat was working with some recabling but the drivers wasn’t
It was evident that it needed canbus to the seat which wasn’t provided by the cars loom
I used the canbus from the back of the stereo to close the loop and the drivers seat came to life!
The only thing I couldn’t figure was how to power the bolsters- as the loom was different
Thanks to all that helped and contributed. If anyone needs guidance in future please drop me a line

I am delighted with the result. Stuart did a brilliant job. I would also second his thanks to everyone else who has contributed to the outcome.
Where else can you find such good folk plus the necessary skills to complete a job like this? Imagine trying to get it sorted in a garage.
Another bonus of having this job done is that I have met other Forum members. Nigel ( and his good lady) who sold me the seats and Rob who is a seat expert. It was good to see Dave again too. He did a fair bit of work on a previous car I owned.
Really looking forward to the good weather and being able to get out in the Z again. I won’t mind now if Angela wants to drive (occasionally).
About bloody time too!
Ha!
Poor Ian, just think how much his utility bills will be this month. And he's a poor pensioner!
I would hope Stuart knows I'm joking.
I’m sure he does Andy. There is no harm in a bit of banter. He would be more worried if you were polite and charming
Thinking about the heated wheel. I wouldn’t say no to one but since our cars are garaged I don’t miss not having one. It’s different if you’re getting into a freezing cold car that has spent the night outside. Then I can appreciate why you would want one.bigwinn wrote: ↑Mon Feb 26, 2024 8:48 pmI think the next thing Ian may be wanting is a heated steering wheel…Jollyjoiner wrote: ↑Mon Feb 26, 2024 8:34 pm Well done Stewart, good to read that the headache is now over lol.
But thank you!
