Hello, been lurking for a while.

Looking for a 'toy' ..many of the ususal suspects.

Decided I'm not a track star so looking at something more accomodating.

Early F types, second generation z4 still on the list..F types still pretty pricey but lots of Z4s that are going much cheaper than when I first looked.

Discounted first generation Z4s and third generation..plus Audi TT, MX5, Merc SLK, Porsche, XK etc

North Yorkshire based.

Z4 forum seems more diverse and interesting compared to F forums, all they seem to talk about is making yet more noise from their cars.

Bit of a techy and fancy something that can be played with.

The 35is looks like a beast, by Z4 standards.

Sounds like you need to talk to B21.

Not me…the OP will never buy one..
We choose to go to on with this endeavour at this time and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard…
A very modified Atacama Yellow 35is

Welcome to the forum.

If you fancy a manual gearbox the 35i might be an option - it has basically the same engine as the 35is so the same scope for tinkering.

B21 is hiding his light under a bushel - here's a link to his 35is build thread:- viewtopic.php?t=131886

Thanks everyone.

I've followed the 35i and 35is debate..

If I don't buy the Jaaag which I really like then I have plenty of headroom to ride out some issues with the top end models.

Quite fancy one in red with the cream interior.

I've started looking and booked a couple of test drives in the next couple of weeks.

Seems a polarised world, B21 and Busterboo with dire warnings and everyone else has no issues?

All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.
