Calum's Z4 35i - new Chinese rear lights...!
One question actually: is it possible to turn off the sequential/scrolling indicator and just have it in a standard mode?

Hi Jon
Yes - there’s a wee I/O switch, which I’ve left accessible inside the boot. There’s a separate one for each light. Can make another demo some time if you’re contemplating them.
Had more replies from factory re: fitting and seals. Will report back some time.

Hahaha—I was worried about this too. But you need to specifically select the stupid blue ones at order. You can’t end up with them by accident if you choose regular smoked or unsmoked ones, I suspect you’ll get exactly what I’ve got (no silly blue light)Deepseaskateboard wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2024 8:02 pm They do look pretty sick, any chance of a video review?
Do they flash blue or anything, I’m sure I have seen some which do this and it puts me off.
I’ll try and do a video review sure. Never done one before but YOLO, contribute to the forum etc.

To me, they look like if BMW did a second LCI update to the E89, they look like the new 3 Series lights etc. I think the clear ones also could look really cool. The issue with clear is that there is no clear brake light to match... I’m waiting for the day someone sells a clear 3rd brake light upgrade!MarshMA10 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 14, 2024 1:33 pmHahaha—I was worried about this too. Fair play for fitting tho and trying it all out. You have unique look for an e99!

Hi all,
Personally I agree with the last comment: I think they look pretty great
But! I have now received my refurbished stock lights from “Blinkin Marvellous”. Clive did a superb job and I definitely recommend his services. He also provided a new gasket/seal for the connection between light body and light-to-car seal. Very professional.
I can’t decide whether to refit them or sell them. For now I am pretty set on keeping the Chinese ones, albeit with some modifications to the rear gaskets, which I’ll describe in future (alongside a video review).
Cheers all: definitely check out Clive’s refurb services if you are suffering broken LEDs.
Otherwise I think the next jobs for this car are going to be suspension (rear drop link annd ARB are no longer best friends) and definitely the overdue fresh tyres once we get into March ish. No rush really, but will begin looking into the subject more deeply and collecting some parts.

Good to know about the repair service and the feedback..

Nothing major with the accident damage , post here viewtopic.php?p=1623293#p1623293
The alloys are Veemann's , not cheapos , better than OE imo

Hello mr wilks! Very glad of the knowledge. Especially the wheel brand. Good to do some internet digging.
https://www.veemann.com/veemann-v-fs25.html
Seems they’re made in Ireland, so reasonably reassuring they’re probably not made of cheese, even if I have never encountered the brand! I’ll get them refurbed when I get the tyres sorted I think.

Good luck pal! The postage is a nightmare but I’m keen to hear your thoughts on the product.
Received this today from Denmark. Total cost £31 after postage, 266 Kroner.
Very pleased with the 3D print - looking forward to fitting.

Yes that’s a gap for the cigarette lighter. I got it from a website called Bimmercup.

Installified. Can’t get the cigarette lighter out of the OEM ashtray though. May need to destroy its clear plastic housing to do it, not sure. Taken inside for free time fidgeting. So for now I have +2 cupholders and +1 pen holder!

I ordered a pair of these today. Have been going back and forth about which colour to order for an Alpine White Zed, was close to ordering the smoked ones, but then saw these on Instagram that convinced me. These are the clear & red version on a mineral white Zed. I think they look much better than all the aliexpress marketing photos so I’m looking forward to getting my hands on them in 2 weeks.
