Greetings
Hi Everyone.
I've been lurking in the forum for a few weeks now, doing lots of research. I have managed to find answers to most of the questions I had. So, thanks for that! I've owned nice old E36 and E39 BMWs in the past, but always admired the E86.
I'm pleased to say that yesterday I pulled the trigger on this example found on Autotrader. Not perfect, but an honest car and all things considered I think it represented good value. Good colour combo, history and maintenance record, and clearly came from a loving home. Not a huge options list, but it has the 10 speaker Hi-Fi and heated seats, which is pretty much all that interests me in what will be a light use second car.
Of course, there's lots of little bits to tidy up and improve over the winter. I'm looking forward to getting stuck in. First on the list is to get it fully checked over by a specialist, then address the small cosmetic issues. I expect I'll swap the wheels for a different BMW set in time. The MV2 set, although original and suited to the car, remind me of my moneypit E46 320cd...
If anyone knows the car, give me a shout, as it's always good to know more about it's history (good or bad)!
Cheers all!
(Apologies for the shite photos...)

Hi and welcome.
I don't know the car but the second picture looks familiar! Does the seller have an F13 6 series?

All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your E86 purchase. Whereabouts in Hants are you?
TBH there wasn’t a huge option list for the E85/E86 except for the different trim choices. Nobody wants the satnav or a cd changer these days. The former is a bit crap and the latter goes wrong. “Must haves” tend to be the upgraded hifi, heated seats and bi-xenon headlights. “Nice to haves” like cruise control, cup holders and aux input are easy to retrofit.

Hi and welcome to the forum from a serial Coupe owner just a few miles from the Hants border.
That's a pretty good example you've found in terms of colour and spec, but then my previous Coupe was Montego Blue with Peral Grey leather!
If you are looking for a specialist I'd recommend RBM Hampshire in Hook if that is anywhere near you. Ross set it up 4 years ago after 15 years at Sytner and looks after both my BMWs.

Thank you all for the warm welcome and for the recommendations. The car is booked in with RBM on Jan 4th, so fingers crossed for a light bill! I plan to request the CDV delete while I'm at it. We'll see what's left in the budget for a new set of wheels after it's been to the garage. Style 32, 67, 216 is my order of preference...
The vendor spoke of a few different BMWs owned previously, but I don't recall seeing or them mentioning a F13, no.
I'm just outside Andover. I can often be found crawling along the A303/M3/A34
