Help....Which bluetooth pairing device do I need for streaming music from android in my 2003 Z4 E85
Hi all,
I know this has been around the houses, but I'm struggling to find with any certainty which set up I need.
I hope you can help. I have spent literally hours this week reading different forum threads about the various options available for linking up bluetooth to Z4 E85 cars for music streaming. What I really would like is to be able to play Spotify via my android phone through my car oem music system.
My music system is the following:
S662 Radio BMW Business CD
S672 CD Changer for 6 CD's
S677 HiFi system proffesional DSP
I have had a look at the back of my CD player in the boot and it would appear that I have the coaxial DSP set up. I have taken some photos and attached above (please can you confirm for me). I have the 3 pin and coaxial currently plugged into the back of the cd player and no 6 pin.
I am no electrician and ideally after a plug and play set up but am not sure which grom/device I need and additional items I will need for it to work in my car and with my configuration.
I like the look of the Blue music adaptor for the boot and the simplicity of it (plug and play), but I have a feeling that won't work with coax dsp.
Please can someone point me in the right direction.
Ideally someone who has the exact same specification I have and share what works for you.
Thanks
Ashley

The BlueMusic unit should work just fine in your case, IF you get the additional DSP1 adapter.
See here: https://www.musikimauto.de/DSP-Adapter- ... SP1-System
Hope that helps!

Help....Which bluetooth pairing device do I need for streaming music from android in my 2003 Z4 E85
Thanks ryushe, I saw that dsp 1 adapter and did wonder if that might work. Couldn't see much on here wrt to the particular unit and not much on the Web either, so was a bit dubious as to whether it works or not. Have you used it before?
For the price it's got to be worth a try, I know from others that the bluemusic device is good.
Cheers

As ryushe mentioned, blue music + DSP adapter should work. I have the exact same setup as you and not much info on the web but still gave it a shot. So from my own experience with the 10 speaker setup + preLCI Z4, this solution works like a charm for me. The DSP will convert the coax to 6pin, so it can work with the 3+6 pin blue music module. The DSP requires 12v power, but I simply powertapped that from the blue music module itself (didn't want to tap/damage the OEM wires)
I can send a picture of my setup if you want, but as explained in text, it's pretty straightforward

Thank you ever so much for your advice. If you could provide a couple of pictures showing your set up, particularly the power tap into 12v power via the blue music module I would really appreciate it.NaweedMustafa wrote: ↑Sun Sep 17, 2023 1:21 pm As ryushe mentioned, blue music + DSP adapter should work. I've used the BlueMusic adapters in my current and previous Zs, and they work just fine. Easy and cheap.AshP wrote: ↑Sun Sep 17, 2023 10:32 am Thanks ryushe, I saw that dsp 1 adapter and did wonder if that might work. That being said, I have a 10 speaker non-DSP setup, with the 6 CD changer, so no experience with the DSP adapter, but can't imagine that being an issue as @NaweedMustafa mentioned.

Help....Which bluetooth pairing device do I need for streaming music from android in my 2003 Z4 E85
It's just an added financial inconvenience for us with the top-dsp + preLCI, that's all. Took quite some testing around to figure out the Head Unit version is useless for our variant (controls work well but no audio output)
@AshP I'll hunt around for the pictures I posted in the Dutch Z4 forum regarding this discovery. I'll post the pics tomorrow afternoon

Help....Which bluetooth pairing device do I need for streaming music from android in my 2003 Z4 E85
Hi again, sorry for all the questions. I'm new to this kind of thing and this will be my first attempt at audio electrics, if you can call it that I'm sure it's pretty straightforward like you say.NaweedMustafa wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 7:35 pm @AshP here you are. picture looks like a mess but again, it's quite straightforward

I'm about to order the following. See photos below: Is this all I need? I take it you used the i'bus to connect the dsp to the 12v and ground lines on the blue music device? Please can you share which one you used as I'm not sure what to order. Is there anything else I will need to purchase to complete the job?
Thanks again
Ashley

This is correct. Also get some clip in wire taps to tap into Voltage and Ground. The 3 pin connector is your Voltage, Ground and i-bus. Not sure which order but I used a multimeter to verify which line was voltage and ground. You of course don't tap into the i-bus wire as you only need power for the dsp module

Double check with a multimeter, wires on pin 2 and 1 should be your V+ and GND. Pin 1 is K-bus (not i-bus, my bad)
