Leak under the Passenger side flooring - near back of the seat

Dear All,

I have found a leak just behind the passenger seat near the right seat track. The leak though goes through a larger area, and if you touch the car flooring it is damp.
I thought it could be the roof hydraulics but I do not think they lines run in this bit of the car. There are no leak in that spot from underneath the car. The car is braking okay, so I am in disbelief as to what it could be! I do not think the seats have hydraulics right?
I have attached some pictures below. In red is the affected area, but I think it is larger than that
Any help is highly appreciated!

Last picture bottom left corner.
I have had damp and rusty under carpet this area, where the trim panel ends towards front of car.
Rubber door trim has hole to let air out.

Pull the trim and rubber door seal off see if it's wet there.
 
Well can only be roof fluid then, unless something was split.
See you have silica tub, do you get damp in car?

Well can only be roof fluid then >> this is what I thought straight away as it s clear and the one to put in the roof pump is clear. I thought it could be brake fluid but this one does have a colour I think. I never bled the car but I do my bike and it is green.
however given the position where the oil is located I found it bizarre to be the roof lines. Also the roof is operating and the pump oil level is midrange. Will keep an eye to see if it lowers. The pump area is absolutely dry.

do you get damp in car? >> not really!
 
however, given the position of the hydraulics line, I find it hard to think it could be the roof. I was thinking about the section on the front shell leaking but there is no sign of leakage from up above there.
Also there is a lot of oil. like a puddle.

If it’s oil then there wouldn’t be rust, I suspected water is getting in around the bottom of the door seal.

Yes, obviously.
I was asking the poster to take a look see if was water.
I missed the bit about being OIL.

Fluid could run behind the trim panel and soak carpet.
Take off trim panel below the rear quarter window.
I am amazed people don't investigate more.
 
Have you seen my post about the 676 retrofitting, that car is fine as it does not have oil leak. I will butcher a bit more this car with the leak , but I can tell you it is solely oil leak.

Sorry I think I misread the post and got things mixed up thinking it was the OP with the rust patch.

I will have to butcher the car this weekend and find out what is going on.
I ll buy the hydraulics for the upper cylinders, anyway sooner or later they will go as these are 10 years old.

Do you mean the complete hydraulic harness? There are no single hydraulic lines available, only the complete harness!
 
Sure someone somewhere could build and copy the lines, have we not seen companies that do this?

no they sell them,
I contacted them they put out of stock as ppl buy them and then they get squashed by the moving parts, they offered a lifetime warranty but they have to discontinue them.
I asked them to sell them to me WITHOUT the warranty, I know how they have to be positioned. there wont be hose squashing in my car.

I m not spending 1000GBP for a few wires and hoses
 
Just to share a story, couple of years ago I had a problem with the passenger airbag. The indication flashed up on the dash. Took to my local garage they found that the connector behind the carpet but under the passenger door sill had blown this requirement was replaced. Before the garage would refit this they had to determine what cause the carpet to be soaked. This was traced back to the scuttle board under the windscreen been damage, this let water in through the air vent which currently soaked the carpet at which point absorbed the water which caused the control to burn out.
Maybe check the seals around the windscreen and rear window. Only a suggestion

it is an OIL leak
 
yes
it doesnt even make sense to replace the whole system whilst people have identified the weak points of the system.

I have NOT identified the source of the link but I found trails here and there in the roof storage area in the boot (along with the area behind the seat, which I still cannot understand how it could get soaked in hydraulic oil. But it s clear oil so it has to be from the roof system).
there are holes in the car frame (internally) so it could seep through from the boot area. the headlining is not oily, it seems.

I will inspect the wiring as well and if worn I will replace in all of the elbows with industrial heavy duty 4000000 times bents guaranteed!

Does anyone know the hose numbers of those going up to the shells?
I am buying from them so they want the number. I can see at least 21, so I would assume the cluster 21 through 24 to go the shell.
