Ways to improve gas mileage / emissions?

Anyway this is all very boring. Hope you find a solution to your problem.
I sure did. Emissions and pollution are directly related to my car and it running at peak performance. If it's "polluting" more than it should, there's a problem with the car. My questions have nothing to do with whatever you'd rather talk about. I think there are other user groups to grumble about taxes, global warming hoaxes, etc... This is supposed to be about cars. Let's keep it that way.

Just drive it, and enjoy it...and consider we were paying close to £1.80/$2.30 per litre ($8.50/US gallon) or not long ago...and currently about £1.40/$1.75 ($6.60/US gallon).
Yes, I'm definitely driving it and enjoying it, but I'll enjoy it more if it's running properly. Thanks!

If it didn’t have a CAT it would perform better and pollute more. . So you’re not making any sense.

But it does, so I'm not sure what your point is. I'm trying to get my zed working at peak performance within the parameters I'm given, including that it has a cat. My post makes total sense, you just want to let off steam about something else.

I found with my 2.5 I would get 32/33mpg on my commute to work but I had a custom stainless backbox fitted and my mpg went up to 36/37 for the same commute......sounds lovely too! :D

Very interesting! Was that backbox custom just for you or was it an aftermarket piece? I'll definitely look into this. Thanks!

LOL!
But seriously, I'm literally only asking questions about my car and some folks use that as a jumping off point to change the subject to issues that have no place here.

Ways to improve gas mileage / emissions?

Most of the membership of this forum is from the UK, I am guessing, and the ethos of car ownership seems to be a little different here to in the States (particularly Cal). No one buys a sports car for economy or emissions here; they used to buy diesel, now they buy hybrid/electric, which is why your question hasn’t had a serious reception.

If you really want to maximise economy/emissions from your Z4 drive it more carefully, make sure the fuelly bits are in tip top condition (VANos, DISA, ICV, sparks, filter), don’t run the aircon, use quality fuel, consider a more fuel efficient map, change the tyres as you say.

Thanks for the recap. I got some excellent suggestions on things I wouldn't have considered before. So, goal accomplished.
