Hi guys,
could anyone bring some light in the correct setup of boot lifting mechanism?
I had "heavy" boot which is solved by new struts, thats is fine and was super easy to do.
But I noticed, there are unconnected springs on my car.
It could help to lift the boot at first when the struts doesn't produce much upforce... but have no idea how should it be. Someone definitely messed with the boot lid.
How does this part look like on your car? I tried to put the spring on the pin which is clearly for the spring, but the lid needs to be half closed to be able to put the spring on and then is prevents the lid fully open - it gives hard spring noise.
Thanks a lot!

That is correct. They are just there to pop the lid a bit when you unlock it
The spring does NOT fit on the lug just butts against it when closed

Hehe, nice I'm not alone Thank you very much!
The lug is so perfect fit for the spring I even didn't think it could be coincidence... the initial lift of the lid works fine, so I'm happy the boot is in correct state now.
I was just a bit surprised, the lid is still quite heavy in first like quarter if its run. This probably lead me to think about the spring

I thought that couldn’t possibly be right, so I had to go outside and check mine. Indeed it is! I should have more faith in you, Martin
