Cleaning my wheels today... found a crack in the front right rim. Freakin 296+ RFTs.

Was de-ironing, claying and ceramic'ing. Durn these wheels get dirty. Took 4 hours to clean these off the car and get them ceramic'd.
Guess I'll be taking one to the wheel doctor.

Those low profile tires aren't helping. I have 18's on mine,no issues-aftermarket wheels though..

Unfortunately once a welded repair has been carried out they tend to crack again adjacent to the weld, the heat from the repair makes the alloy more brittle

Fit for nothing but the skip I'm afraid. I wouldn't waste a dollar on it or the fuel to take it to any welders for the reason the Bear says.

For $150 from an alloy wheel specialist, it will be resolved quickly and stretch the spend into next year. Trying to keep up the WAF ratio for my fun car that keeps needing replacement parts.

I'll change out the rim when I replace the front tires early next season (~$1k). I appreciate the advice/warning.
Doesn't make sense to replace the rim and keep the RFTs.

If you are trying to save money, why not save your $150 on a blob of weld and leave it?
Then put the $150 toward a new one next year! :?
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.
