Delete/Remove PDC by coding

Post by marcop123 » Tue May 23, 2023 10:10 pm

Hey All,

Does anyone know a scanner that will delete PDC from my E86 ?

My car does not have sensors anymore after replacement rear bumper but it still has the PDC box installed. Even disconnected it detects a fault and therefore beeps when go into reverse I’ve had conflicting stories on this and looking to code out PDC ??

Thanks

Pretty sure someone with ISTA/INPA can help with that. Can’t say I’ve found the feature in Carly but then that’s relatively limited. You’ll probably have to remove it from its factory configuration list, but I’ll leave that to the experts!

If you’re looking to get rid of the PDC module; mine has died and I’m in the market for a replacement. Send me a PM if you’d be willing to let that go

From memory the PDC controls the gong with a dedicated wire/connector. Just disconnect it from the sounder.

Edit: Looked it up, it's the black/grey wire in a single pin connector on the back of the gong. Just disconnect that.

@barty thanks yeah my ex bmw mechanic was saying it needs removed from the factory configuration and as he has proper bmw stuff bmw won’t allow it to be removed he was sort of hinting try some other coding but didn’t specify I’ll look into the INSTA.

I should have removed it when getting hifi upgrade if I can get it out on Friday with ease when doing a detail I will give you a shout , it’s just in front right hand rear wheel

It's incredibly easy to get access to the speaker, just 3 screws in the driver's footwell- you shouldn't have any issues and will be a quick job :D

Its very easy. I basically added PDC to my non PDC car, you just need to do the reverse steps. You have to edit your vehicle order code and delete $508 and write back to the cars AKMB module and ALSZ moduke (dual redundancy, hence the info is stored in more than one place). You need to familiarise yourself with NCS expert and how this all works.

See my post here: viewtopic.php?t=141619

Instead of add, delete the vehicle code

As above, just unplug the speaker in the drivers footwell.

as srhutch mentioned, thats the most convenient way to get rid of the noise. It however won't get rid of the errors on the sccanner. The choice is yours
