I presume you've included a link in your listing to the build thread on here?

Mileage aside, it's clearly a looked after car, although I suppose folks will try to use that as a stick to beat you with regardless in the name of getting the lowest price they can.
You and me both! I sometimes think that maybe I've been a bit too honest with the advert

Stupidly, I thought I had put a link to it, but I didn't... Whoops!

viewtopic.php?t=136671 For anyone interested.

Sadly I’m not a buyer, but if you have a 10-speaker system (DSP or not) it would be worth mentioning as this is a discriminator for some.

GLWTS.
Thanks! Unfortunately no 10-speaker system.

Certainly looks like a real honest example that in reality provides a really good mechanical but, I think sadly the mileage scares buyers which is silly really

The Z4 coupe is a niche car it doesn’t tick the box for those that want a convertible for summer, so a smaller buyer pool, it’s an honest description, body blemishes and miles are against it, as we are all finding any kind of minor damage is seeing cars written off by insurers and only trade price being paid out.

I agree, mileage is something that us Brits seem to have a real issue with. The thing is, low mileage cars seem to be more desirable, but funnily enough time also wears rubber out. It's all well and good buying a 60k "beauty", but if the thing has been sat around for long periods of time, then the rubber suspension components still disintegrate, hence why I'd personally rather buy a car that has documented history of things being changed as opposed to just being low mileage. :poke:

Agreed, it's a small pool, and even smaller with it being a lightly modified example.
To be perfectly honest, I'm getting a bit tired of people bringing up insurance and insurance valuations, because it's somewhat irrelevant. If you want insurance to pay out what you think the car is worth, pay the premium and get an agreed valuation with a specialist. It's the responsibility of the buyer to take the risk with a generic policy, or whether they want to pay a bit more to have security.

In a few years we're look back and be shocked at how so little money could by so much car. My daughter just bought a C1 on a 65 plate for not much less!!! It insane.
The Coupe prices seem all over the place imop.
I think more buyers will come out of the woodwork once warmer weather arrives. It interesting to see Coupes with 80 to 90 k sell well but one with over 100k stick.......like a few thousand on these engines n gearboxes makes any difference, besides once those per 100k cars drive just another 10 or 20 k the owners are facing a substantial drop in value??? Getting a post 100k car for almost half the price in some instances seems like a no brainer unless the cars being bought to sit in the garage......which kinda defeats the idea of getting one???? That's why I bought a post 100k car that I can enjoy and not be hung up on depreciation as I paid nowt for it in the first place (and put the saving into completely into refreshing the usual wear n tear items)........kinda like this Coupe.

It is a phsychological number thing, funny bit is that a friend of mine bought an Alpina (in NL), and he was scared stiff about getting it close to 100k. And that is km, not even miles, as the cars drops it's value like a stone then over there.

It was a real effort for me to buy a 91k miles a few weeks back as I have never had cars with those sorts of miles, but I took the position that I wrote the value off in my mind to 0 so I can enjoy it and not worry about it not having a lot of value left. It is good to see that a car can still be ok at 141k miles such as this one for sale.

I think sometimes we do really over think things about mileage and forget logic. More importantly we should just enjoy these cars for as long as we can, who knows what way the values will go in the long run but if you use them and enjoy them does it really matter?!!

Think about it another way that you dont feel like its an issue putting miles on and use it for everything rather than special occasions.

I like the idea of a garage queen because of my OCD but it's such a waste having amazing assets and being scared to use them for the next person to enjoy. Its the experiences you make, there's no memories made sitting in a garage looking at it.

So long as it's had regular oil changes and benefited from preventative maintenance the mileage wouldn't bother me in the slightest. 140k is nothing if it's been well looked after, which this one seems to be.

Different world but down under cars regularly sell with double, triple, quadruple this mileage.

I wouldn't be put off by the mileage either. I had a 139K mile N52 and currently have a 120K miler in 3 Series' and they perform just fine.

To be brutally honest and many many owners of classic or special cherish cars need to understand the days of diesel and petrol cars are sadly numbered, I think the green agenda has become so psychotic and hysterical that I'll be very surprised if by 2030 your be able to drive something that's apparently going to kill the planet and all life on earth and if it is still possible it will be with massive financial costs and road restrictions. Where we like it or not this is coming down the pipe much sooner than later....so.....get out there and enjoy the swansong of what motoring used to be as its going the way of the dodo............Greta :fuelfire:
