The joy of pot holes !

Post by PSQ777 » Thu Mar 23, 2023 12:55 am

I went out for a quick drive last night. A few miles away from home an awful screeching sound started coming from my front left wheel. I guess you all know the reason. First time I've had the dreaded heat shield with trapped stone issue. What a noise ! It was dark, I didn't have any tools with me so had no option but to just go home. It was not pleasant, several miles, and that noise ! Anyway around 200 yards from home I hit a big pot hole, immediate ping from wheel arch and the screeching stopped. Went out tonght to make sure it was fixed and it's all good. I've never been more happy with the appaling road conditions around where I live :-)

A bit drastic! But if you ever do get another stone stuck against the disc, just reverse up a bit.

It wasn't deliberate ! It was a new pot hole that I didn't spot in the dark. I'll try reversing next time.

I feel your pain. The roads are coming apart at the seams round here - I found a couple of fairly bad ones in the dark and rain earlier in the year.

for what we all pay in road tax the roads should be perfect .no excuse gov and council's paying rate payers money too dodgy tarmac, ers who only put a skim of tarmac on the road, so it needs doing again 6 months later. what a joke Gov needs to get in the real world. :fuelfire:

In the village where I live we have one road that the local police on mountain bikes declared as a good off road challenge, and one person posted on our local Facebook group that she has already had 7 new tyres this year. With my Z4 there are certain roads I've stopped using now, it's just getting ridiculous :headbang:
