Specialists in and around Surrey?

Post by Sam4090 » Sun Mar 12, 2023 12:43 pm

I recently picked up a e86 z4 which is in very good condition overall, however my front left brake pad has worn down and I need it to be replaced. Does anyone know of any reputable specialists in or around Surrey or south west London? Thanks for any help

I don’t think RBM in Hook is too far from you

RBM is brilliant and you will see lots of other lovely Zeds in the carpark, but you don’t need a specialist to replace a brake pad. It is a very simple job on a Z4 which is well within reach of most amateur home mechanics.

Another vote for RBM Hampshire in Hook run by Ross who is ex-Sytner.

If that is further than you want to go there is TWG Automotive in Camberley run by Will who is also an ex-Sytner. I have been there several times and had no issues.

Then there is BMS Surrey in Leatherhead who seem to have a good reputation - my sister was happy when her Mini went there.

But as Zedebee said swapping a brake pad is pretty straightforward so even if you can't do it yourself any competent garage should be able to sort it for you.

Of course I’m sure you are aware you should change both pads, plus the pair on the other side too?

Always happy to help if I can.

If the forum helped you, why not help the forum back. Thats the Z4 way!

If it’s just pads (and maybe discs) then that’s super easy for any competent mechanic. Pretty straightforward DIY. Doesn’t need to be a BMW specialist IMO.
