E89 35i/35is

Post by Mundee » Sun Mar 05, 2023 6:42 pm

Much like the last time I circled back to getting into a Z4 I have started out looking for an E86 but worked my way to thinking an E89 is likely the way to go. Having had a 30i and a 35is previously I think the turbo is the way to go so am now looking for a 35i or 35is. Importantly I get anxious around expensive fixes so will be looking to run a BMW warranty so am after one with sub 60k miles and not modified.

So what I am interested in is;

- 35i/35is
- M Sport
- FSH
- preferably sub 60k miles (not essential), not modified (engine wise)
- Prefer black, grey or silver paintwork
- Prefer red or black leather

- Preferred options;
- Heated, electric seats
- Decent sound system
- Parking sensors
- iDrive
- 19 inch alloys

In an ideal world I’d like to spend less than £15k but appreciate the market seems inflated, so have some flexibility.

Thanks in advance!

I’m seriously contemplating a G29 Z4 so there is a chance I may sell mine when I find the right one. I’ll send you a PM and let me know what you think. Might not be quite what you want but you never know…

Interested to know what BMW quote for warranty on a 10 year old (ish) N54 engine'd car with circa 50k miles. I am willing to bet it ain't cheap?
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

My warranty was either £457 for year with £250 excess or £650 per year with £100 excess . I’ve gone for the £650 one. My car is a 2013 with 39k on the clock. I think the BMW warranty is a bargain and I have already used it once with no questions asked.

I would agree knowing how fragile the N54 is above about 1,000 miles. :thumbsup:

I must have been lucky with my N54... nearly 2 years and 15k miles... one rocker cover gasket (which probably wasn't needed anyway) and a couple of coils after remapping it. Not sure what all the fuss is about :tumbleweed:

Feels like good value to me, for the price of a family takeaway each month you can be worry free! Different strokes for different folks though!
