A return of sorts

Post by Brads67 » Sun Feb 19, 2023 5:36 pm

Back again
Was on here a little bit when I bought my E85 which I did sheds loads of work to and eventually got it mechanically spot on.
All new suspension , brakes, wheels tyres etc plus all the usual engine bits and bobs.

Now It's up for sale as I collect an E89 facelift this week.
Ony a 20i but as far as I can tell this is basically a 28i detuned.

Happy to be corrected mind so if anyone has experience of 20i tuning or can tell me the differences with the 28i I'd be gratefull.

Anyhoo, will be hanging around a bit again, so,, hiya.

That is correct! Easily mapped up to (and above) 28i levels.
Mine is a lowly 18i but mapped it is a very different animal.

Welcome back BTW. Any pictures?
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

28i had physically larger front brakes..330mm vs 300mm..that's it apart from software changes to allow the same physical engine to go from 184 ish to 240 ish..BHP

You can depending on various issues like pneumatic waste gate vs electronic waste gate expect anything from 260bhp-280bhp on the same dyno basis and upto450nm of torque which is what really makes the car pull like a train..

Various tuners around..I'd go with one of the well known suppliers and pay the xtar for a before and after dyno run!
