New guy - ringer

Post by Thresherinc » Fri Feb 17, 2023 2:44 pm

Hey guys,

I'll come straight to the point, I'm a bit of a ringer, I don't have a Z4, although I do lust after the Coupe version a little.

I'll also be looking for a LHD Z4 for my retirement, so all is not lost yet.

The story so far is, I won a BMW G80 M3 Competition, the previous owner made a disastrous choice and changed the original wheels out for some Carlos Fandango 21" rims, also cheaper out on the tyres so they had Accelera Phis on. Whilst they looked good they were dreadful for the ride, they needed 30mm and 25mm spacers for the geometry, in short it was an appalling choice.

I could have just changed the tyres but as I was going to have to do that anyway I started looking for replacements.

I managed to source a brand new set of 19" 799M from the G29 to tide me over.

Whilst they're lovely to look at they were just a stop gap until I found some proper M3 wheels at the right price, which sort of happened faster than I thought, I've only done 1500 miles on these rims. :!:

I'm not here to spam you guys, I know how horrible that is, I also didn't want to join under false pretences, so I'm here because you guys have a vested interest in all things Z4, I mean I'll be keeping an eye on the forum for when I do retire, which, fingers crossed, is only a year or two away.

So if it's cool with your admins? (I couldn't PM to find out)
I'll play nice, post a couple of comments to enable me to pm and then post the wheels for sale, if not, I'll pop them on the Bay.

Cheers!

    Lucky you!
I entered that competition too and won second prize......£10 Amazon voucher! :o

FYI you will have a very small market for those wheels on here as they won't fit anything but a G29. PCDs changed with all G series.
You will have a bigger audience on the likes of "cutters" or "Bimmerpost" IMO, as the wheels will fit many G-series cars. HTH
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

    F31 320i. Good car.

    Welcome to the madhouse.
Have to say though, I think the 799s look better.

Always happy to help if I can.

If the forum helped you, why not help the forum back. Thats the Z4 way!

Hi and welcome. The G80 definitely looks better with the original BMW wheels especially the ones meant for a G80 M3! I have to say I do like the new M3 and M4, they look super aggressive, I am even liking the new grills!

Hi and welcome to the forum.

You've certainly allowed enough time to learn all their foibles before you start looking for one! I'm biased but there is just something special about the shape of the Coupe.

Your M3 must be a bit of a beast and isn't too out of place on here as quite a few of us are serial BMW owners - I currently have numbers 7 and 8. :worshipbmw:
