Upgraded the brakes to 325mm 3.0Si spec today.

I got a decent second hand set from a Z4C, stripped them, cleaned them and applied some black Hammerite, all last weekend to give the paint some time to harden.

This weekend I took off the old brakes and fitted the new ones. It was a bit of a faff getting the old discs off as I had to drill out the retaining bolts. I’ve done callipers a few times now and once you understand how the callipers/carriers/pads fit together and know how to open the hydraulic lines without losing all your fluid, it is pretty straightforward.

Those discs look massive sitting behind 17” daisies.

I’m not sure if that was aimed at me, but many thanks if so

Rear wheels need spacers ideally, and all need to be refurbed… but getting there

Today I converted a non headlight washer bumper, into one with headlight washers!!

All the fittings are there as standard so it was just a case of carefully cutting the shape out with a dremel.

Good work mate. I noticed yesterday that the cut outs and mountings for the washers are all there.
However I've decided to go the other way for wifey's. I now have a decent non-washer bumper and as the fuse has been pulled for the last three years anyway, that is going on, along with the single pump washer bottle.

I’m not knocking this, but, what circumstances have led to this happening for the first time, only after one year of ownership?

Lol, i’ve aways felt the power the car has was enough, and I have had good fun - trust me, and maybe because the gasket was fixed, I decided it was time :D the acceleration out of the roundabout was awesome

I think i might try it again one day, maybe not in a year though

To be clear though it gives no more power.
To put it very basically: normally when you put your foot down half way the throttle opens about a third, then the rest comes in wit the second half of the movement.
In Sport, the first half way of the pedal gives you two thirds throttle opening. So it's just more sensitive to your inputs.
It also stiffens the steering and on an auto it holds the gears longer.

It makes much more difference in an Auto than a manual. Holds the gear longer under acceleration and generally staying in one gear lower than usual. If you are hustling, it’s quite manic, in a good way

I waved goodbye to my car today. :(

Elder son begged me to borrow it for the week. Somehow sorted out temporary insurance for himself and off he went. I suspect there is a girl involved.
