RHD Vehicles In Films

Post by Marcoose » Sun Feb 05, 2023 1:14 am

In two Netflix shows that take place during WWI and WWII, ‘Les Combattantes’ and ‘Rapiniamo il duce’, all vehicles are RHD. Dafuq? Are the images inverted?

For sure British vehicles don’t last that long.

I just googled WW2 Italian Army Vehicles and it does indeed look that they were RHD. I'd no idea that was a thing!

All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

It was quite an equal split between RHD & LHD in the early days, but they gradually swapped over to LHD to match with their neighbours (and possible to spite the RHD countries).

Sweden didn't switch until the 1960's.

Yep, that’s indeed what I’m learning myself. I’ve watched hundreds of films, series and documentaries about WWI and WWII. I’ve never noticed that. I’ve left those parts so long ago, either I hadn’t learnt my history properly or the old noggin is already misfiring.
