What's the best way to remove side badges?
Actually this thread has reminded me I need to remove the 'essay' from the wings of our Z4 (especially as it's a povvy 18i).
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

I think heating the the decals with a hair drier then slicing thro with dental floss sound good to me!
If I was going to remove mine that's what I would try first.

You don't stop playing when you get old - You get old when you stop playing!
So I bought a 35is with all the toys to play with.

Now, Sterling grey Z4 2.2 with cup holders, stubby aerial and sport seats. Roadsters ‘cause they’re great with the roof down.
Ford Anglia, Red Sprite, a few MG midgets, MGB Roadster and yellow Ford Capri, all gone many years now.

White spirit doesn't 'melt' the adhesive very well at all. It is also a paint thinner!Deepseaskateboard wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 11:51 pm White spirit, dental floss and then more white spirit to clean.

What's the best way to remove side badges?
Just done it this weekend - went much easier than I thought.
The badges are held on by that sticky foam stuff - a bit of fishing line cuts right through it in a few seconds - very very easy.
Then you are left with the remains of the self adhesive foam - not so much glue per se. I warmed it up for 20 seconds with a hairdryer, sprayed wd40 on it & waited a minute. 99% of it peeled right off in one piece.
The minor remains, essentially a dirty looking shadow of the logo, I rubbed clean with a bit of farecla m3 & that's it - all sorted.
Anyone contemplating doing this, it is super easy.
