E89 rear bumper paint colour

Post by UKBaz » Sun Jan 29, 2023 10:11 pm

Hi - Would anyone know or suggest how, what is the paint colour on the lower half of this rear bumper on an E89 in Alpine white? I have a small scratch and want the right paint touch up paint stick.

Thanks

Funny you should ask....
I posted the same question in the wrong section yesterday. I searched and found 'Sophisto Grey' (code A90) recommended somewhere.
However, having removed my lower valance today, the inside sticker says "dark shadow". I Googled it and came up with a paint code of B27.
HTH.
I'm going to repaint mine in A90 though (as Halfords sell it and it's cheaper than getting it mixed).
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

F31 320i. Good car.
E89 20i Now fully dried
Z3 'free litre'. Project and a half. Complicated!
Mazda3 sold
Tatty old R56 Mini Cooper. Money pit!

Thanks Pondrew I will look up both codes and see which gives the best match. And perhaps if I remove the valance I might too see a reference.

Great work thanks!

This is what I found on the reverse side of the valance. Worth the effort to get the right paint reference

FWIW I think gloss black suits most E89s better …IMHO always was a strange choice of colour…a politically correct colour that didn’t suit any of the cars main colours…discuss..
We choose to go to on with this endeavour at this time and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard…

Always enjoy an alternative opinion. If mine wasn’t black I’d consider painting in black (thanks Mick et al).

Seems somewhat asymmetrical…you have black grills n vents on the front bumper then you stock a yucky browny grey on the bottom on the back…

I’m seeing on here (today) that others agree with you Peter. Here’s a screenshot of white in white. I get it now!

Personally I prefer the black diffuser on all the E89s..I always think that the full main colour on the diffuser gives the E89 a 'prolapsed' look..
