Staggered wheels necessary?
Hey guys,
I had a post on here a while back about my wheels, when I first bought my Z4. Something I didn’t notice when buying the car was that I have one odd wheel! If I remember the models correctly I have 3 x style 202’s and an odd style 107 on the rear! I’ve beeb hunting for a spare rear style 202 for about 6 months and can’t find one anywhere. Getting to the point I might be better replacing the full set. But struggling to find a staggered set in the correct sizes. Does it make that much difference if they are staggered, e.g. rears are 0.5” wider? There seems to be much more option if I went for a non staggered set?
Cheers
Wayne

You rarely see 202s for sale. 107s are more common and a nicer looking wheel IMO.
It’s not necessary to run a staggered set. Although all the 18” wheel options offered as OEM options on the Z4 were staggered, the 17” and 16” wheels which were offered as standard on most models where square (8J x 17”, 7J x 16” all round).

Staggered wheels necessary?
Well....................
I picked up this 4-pot as a daily runabout for the winter. It's in need of a tidy up and will never be worth much, so I was considering picking up a cheap set of 16 or 17" wheels and selling on the 202s.
They have legal tyres but tbh the wheels would benefit from a refurb.
Staggered with 255/35 rear and 225/40 front.
IF I can find a decent set of replacement wheels (or you could provide a set) then I 'MAY' be interested in a deal.

there should be loads of staggered sets on ebay and the like, you've got 107s, 108s, and 202s as standard Z4 wheels... then any 18" wheels off a E46 3 series will fit, and even 18" wheels off an E90 3 series.
of those wheels, a staggered set of MV1s is probably cheapest, but MV2s are easy to come by too, and MV3s looks good and have a slightly lower offset so fill the arches slightly more.

As has been said all the OE 18" wheel options for E85/86s and E46 3 Series were staggered.
But I have had a couple of sets of Replica wheels that were 8J x 18 all round.
I fitted a set of E89 wheels to my 2nd Coupe that were also staggered 18s, but thanks to the different offsets they sat much further out in the wheel-arches so E89 wheels may be another option.

I’d certainly be interested, but wouldn’t have anything to offer as replacements I’m afraid?
I have found a set locally, they are staggered but not the correct widths. These below are 7.5 front and 8 rear, has anyone fitted them to a Z4? Would they fit ok, how do they look?

Not sure on fitment or look tbh. Would need to know the offsets too.WayneZ4 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 25, 2023 4:26 pmI’d certainly be interested, but wouldn’t have anything to offer as replacements I’m afraid?

I'm looking at 103 Daisies atm and could possibly pick up a set of them.
If you're in no great rush we can work on it for a while.

they are F20 M sport alloys, i imagine the offsets will be quite weak (around the 50 mark) so would need spacers to look good IMO

Thanks Jamie.
We'll keep looking then.
As I said, ideally a fairly decent set of Daisies with decent tyres would suit me.

I’ve asked the seller the sizes offsets are;
Front 18x7.5” offset 45
Rear 18x8” offset 52
Would these be too narrow of a fitment without spacers?

you should be able to purchase a set of 15mm spacers all round with longer bolts and they should look fine and not rub

Wayne if you're thinking of those for me, don't bother, I think I've sourced a set.
I'll let you know when it is sorted if you still want these 202s.

Hi mate, that would save me the hassle of trying to work out what fits PM if you like, to discuss price and your location etc?enuff_zed wrote: ↑Thu Jan 26, 2023 2:34 pmWayne if you're thinking of those for me, don't bother, I think I've sourced a set.

Gave up as it had all gone quiet and my last PM to you is still in my outbox, unread.
The wheels have now been sold.
