24 35is FS Ron on AT…not sure prices are going to rise much this year…

I don’t look at AT very often but 44 35i/ 35is are a lot AFAIK FS?
Over the past couple of years it's consistently been around 10 35is for sale at any given point. Seems like a lot of owners wanting to free up cash by getting rid of their toys.

Am I right in thinking there were only 400 sold in UK? That would mean 5% of them are currently for sale on AT, which feels like a lot.
Will be an interesting year with mortgage rates going up / serious inflation etc ..

Mine is a keeper so it’s irrelevant to me

I wonder how ‘poverty’ will affect the spectrum of Zed owners…who will bail as fiscal pressures mount… :tumbleweed:
We choose to go to on with this endeavour at this time and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard…
A very modified Atacama Yellow 35is

My car was specced up and also bought as a keeper - last of the E89 breed- I did have a couple of wobbles when I seriously thought of an M40i but realised it wasn’t such a good idea, my current car more than fits the bill. That and me being a wee bit old. I will perhaps fit some decent rubber in the springtime to make it feel new afaa again.

Financially, the U.K. is heading back to the 1970s - I see trouble ahead. We are stuffed!

So I bought a 35is with all the toys to play with.

The same seems to apply to Z4Ms. Of the 1,200 that came to the UK there are 30 for sale on AT!

But mine is also staying, and I hope nobody has to sell their Z4 due to fiscal pressures.

I hope ronk is wrong about a return to the 70s! I remember getting sent home from school because the electricity was getting turned off so I could sit at home with no electricity instead. :o

Still we had a coal fire and Dad had rigged up a headlamp in the living room connected to his car battery in the garage, and we could boil the kettle on a camping Gaz burner!
Coupes because stunning!

My car is a 3.5i Manual, my 2nd 3.5i E89 and I’m keeping it for as long as I deem fit, which the way cars are looking these days will be a long time. The older these E89s get the better they look. These Z4s , both E85 and E89 are sure to be future classics whatever engine size you have……

BMW E89 3.5i DCT, Havana Brown, should never have sold it…..

Apples and oranges, but £24,000 is about US$30,000, and I bought my 35is two years ago for about US$35,000, also low miles.

Though mine isn’t an ///M.

It’s a sad world we live in when people say they can’t afford to feed their kids, but continue to pay extortionate amounts every month for Sky Tv and mobile phone contracts :(

For those who bought a sports car of any type during and post lockdown, the reality of of ongoing ownership costs may cause a rethink for many with everything else going on.

As another owner with the luxury of my Zed being a non essential, it’s value is a little moot in the sense that with few exceptions the value of the majority of other vehicles will follow a similar curve.

With that in mind, some may look to cash in now on the basis that the sale proceeds may stretch further at a later point (in terms of toy cars at least)

As B21 says, it's going to be an interesting year, who knows what economic carnage will occur.

House prices seem to be falling much quicker than is reported - one we looked at asking for 475 in September, we offered 435 and the agent acted offended. It is now advertised with an asking price of 425 and has been sat like that for over a month.

Difficult to believe there won't be a knock on effect on car prices too.

The high number of 35is on AT at this point of time could be because demand has disappeared, rather than supply has increased. I.e. no more being listed than at previous times, but taking a lot longer to sell.

A whole house for £425,000 ? Blimey ! I’ll take it. You cannot a broom closet for that money here in San Fran.
