I'm guessing the two aren't related,i had the cam cover gasket done last year, and it looks dry below that line but the actual cover (black bits on the drivers side seems to look oily. So thats my first issue.
Second one is occasionally get a sweet smell coming through the heater, this is sometimes brought on quicker if I brake sharply, almost like its throwing some fluid onto something.
Someone said Heater core so that's one option.
I know my washer fluid is leaking, but I haven't had any for awhile, just waiting to get chance to remove bumper and fix leaker washer jet.
Could this be the cause or still look at the heater core, and can anyone recommend anyone good in the West Midlands to take a look?

A sweet smell is usually associated with burning or very hot antifreeze.
